He went into a coma and was put on life support. With no family, the state ended up liable for the cost of the life support. State laws did not allow for anyone to pull the plug, so to speak. I'm facing a similar dilemma. OVC has done site visits and required four different grants. Meanwhile the school community in Ill, has already received recovery money for a later shooting. This grants are typically given within weeks of an event, and it is well over a year after this tragedy.
